As we look back on an historic year, it is unsurprising that the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board recorded the highest ever total annual property sales in its 100 year history in 2021. 27,692 sales were processed on the Multiple Listing Service (MLS), up 39% from 2020.
The Board reported a 14.9% decrease in new listings and 13.3% decrease in sales in the Fraser Valley compared to this month last year.
Larry Anderson, President of the Board, remarked “…our Board averaged over 5,200 transactions every month. And even though our volume of new listings was also high, it just couldn’t keep up with the demand.”
The Board processed 1,808 sales of all property types on its Multiple Listing Service® (MLS®) in December 2021. 50 sales took place in Mission, compared to 62 sales in November 2021. 43 detached homes were sold in December 2021, compared to 56 in December 2020. The sales of townhomes increased by 250% compared to this month last year.
Active listings in Mission for detached homes and townhomes decreased by 45.6% and 100% respectively compared to this month last year.

Mission’s Benchmark Price for detached homes in December 2021 was $1,072,400 compared to $765,900 in December 2020, an increase of 40%.
