The Fraser Valley Real Estate Board has released the statistics for the month of December 2020, and the year closed out with an absolute bang. The FVREB processed 2,086 sales this month, 81.2% above average, and the highest number of sales ever recorded for the month of December. The unrelenting demand for family homes in the Fraser Valley ended an unprecedented year in an unprecedented way, with total annual sales 12.4% higher than the 10-year average.

The Board processed 2,086 sales of all property types on its Multiple Listing Service® (MLS®) in December 2020. 63 sales took place in Mission — a remarkable 85.2% increase in sales from this month last year. 56 detached homes were sold in December 2020, compared to 21 in December 2019. The sales of townhomes and apartments saw a slight decrease this month compared to December 2019.

Active listings in Mission for detached homes and townhomes decreased by 59% and 58.3% respectively compared to this month last year, reflective of the unwavering demand for family homes in the Fraser Valley. 

Mission Real Estate Statistics

  • 43 new listings in December 2020 compared to 61 in November.
  • Sales of all property types in Mission remained the same at 63 for both November and December 2020.
  • The number of active listings in Mission for all property types decreased by 36.4% compared to last month.
  • Mission’s Benchmark Price for detached homes in December 2020 was $765,900 compared to $643,500 in December 2019, an increase of 19%.
