After the historic number of sales in 2021, 2022 brought back balance to the BC real estate market. Tools introduced by the BC Government included 7 interest rate hikes and new laws targeting housing affordability in BC, which resulted in a sales slow down for the majority of 2022.
Mission Real Estate Statistics December 2022
The Board processed 716 sales of all property types on its Multiple Listing Service® (MLS®) in December 2022. 27 sales took place in Mission — a 46% decrease from December 2021. 22 detached homes were sold in December 2022, compared to 43 in December 2021. The sales of townhomes decreased 57.1% compared to this month last year, and there were 2 sales of apartments in Mission in December 2022.
Active listings in Mission for detached homes and apartments increased by 254.8% and 350% respectively compared to this month last year.
New listings in December 2022 decreased 31% compared to this month last year.
Sales of all property types in Mission decreased by 18% compared to November 2022.
Mission’s Benchmark Price for detached homes in December 2022 was $906,100, compared to $1,105,000 in December 2021, a decrease of 18%.
