Karen Johnson, owner of K’pure Naturals, began her business purely by accident while creating natural, healthy hygiene and skin products to offer as promotional gifts for her gym.
Nine years ago, she was a busy personal trainer with four young children, but found the time to develop recipes for deodorant and lip balm which friends and clients tried and tested. When they asked for more, she realized she had uncovered a new business opportunity. Karen then began experimenting and expanding the line of products which are now sold in hundreds of stores, boutiques and studios throughout Canada and the States.
During this time, many of our local businesses must rely on online orders and Karen and her team are no exception. They are working hard to continue to provide the excellent products her customers have come to love.
Until storefronts are able to open up their doors once again, there are many ways to show our support of homegrown and family-run businesses by buying products online or gift cards to use in the future.
K’pure’s products are only offered online for now and you can shop products such as bath soaks, baby and skin care, linen and room sprays, salves, essential oils, and of course the deodorant that started it all! K’pure only uses the highest quality, non-toxic, natural ingredients and the essential oils are certified organic.
Karen says the number one seller at the moment is K’pure’s hand sanitizer “dry clean” which is also distributed to health care workers throughout BC.
She describes how she feels about the support she’s seeing on K’pure’s Facebook Page: “I know things are uncertain and scary right now, but oh my gosh, have I ever been comforted by the K’pure community. While we don’t know what the future holds, I am so comforted by you, your messages and your acts of kindness. I am very inspired by this time and what it means for all of us. We are in this together and I love y’all for it!”
